My favourite Australian single of all time. Charlie Tumahai striking vocals. I loved going to see them back in the day. The early to mid 70s were the best, so many talented musos and bands. Soectrum , king Harvest, friends, Leo de Castro, Billy Green, Doug Parkinson. Though I’m four years younger than Mark Kennedy I knew him well as his brother Ross was my best mate and Mark would get us into gigs. Has there been a better Australian rythym section than Mark Kennedy and the ‘wiz’ Duncan Maguire? They played in so many of those great bands and Mark’s drum solos are legendary. I use to help roadie for Ayres Rock for any gigs they did in Melbourne and Andy would pay me in dope haha, we’d all be happy.

Between the 60s and 70s the bands rock and roll, the awesome music 🎼🎶

Ross Hannaford's solo is a lot of fun (I had to listen to it twice) as it doesn't go quite where you think it might and his licks throughout the song are inspired. I got to see him once with Billy T in 1977, gone too soon.

Thorpie was just naturally popular, nothing to do with newspapers, etc. He played and people loved his sound, and they followed him around. When he came back from the US after 20 years, they went back to see him. Nothing like it anywhere else.

I saw this as a kid. Prior to that I thought Billy was a silly pop singer. This made me realise otherwise.

I saw him perform 25.2.2007 at Westernport hotel San Remo...HOLY FUCK...he was electrifying! He died 3 days later. I am firever grateful & blessed for having that experience❤

Randy's voice and songs were always smooth and golden. We lost a tremendous talent way, way too soon. Hard to believe it's been 20 years since Randy tragically passed away, but his talent and music will live on forever.
